We’re excited to begin a new semester here at Tech and want to extend a warm welcome to all of our students. To help them become acquainted with the campus and all that the Institute offers, New Student and Transition Programs (NSTP) will host Spring Week of Welcome, January 13-22, 2021. Spring Week of Welcome is meant to support students through their transition to Tech by providing various opportunities to engage with offices, departments, student organizations, and peers during the first week of the spring semester.
Students can look forward to campus tours with FASET leaders, Leadership Symposium speakers, MLK Celebration events, an Organization Fair, an official welcome during a New Student Welcome Ceremony, and so much more. The schedule of events includes virtual, hybrid, and distanced in-person engagement opportunities to give everyone a chance to participate. Some events require registration ahead of time, so please read the descriptions on the Spring Week of Welcome page carefully.
“We are excited to be able to host our first campus Spring Week of Welcome, for new and returning students who are joining from Atlanta or remotely across the world,” said Megan Faulkner, NSTP coordinator. “Not only is this a fantastic engagement opportunity for our roughly 500 new transfer, first-year, and exchange students, but it is also a great opportunity for the rest of campus to participate in one of more than 20 events being offered.”
As we welcome more students back to campus since the pandemic started, we encourage all students who are participating in Spring Week of Welcome activities to follow CDC and campus guidelines: wear a face covering, maintain social distancing, and participate weekly in Georgia Tech’s Covid-19 surveillance testing.
We hope that you find events to fit your interests and that you enjoy the week. For more information and a full list of events, please click here.
