Purpose
The purpose of the Student of Concern Committee/Procedure is to provide coordination of support services to a student who may display behaviors that interfere with the student’s ability to be successful and promote academic success through an appropriate, timely, and caring response.
The rationale serves to ensure a safe Georgia Tech community. Students who display behaviors that may interfere with the student’s ability to be successful are identified. The Student of Concern committee generates a weekly list of students for discussion. The Student of Concern committee will deliberate potential resources, method of outreach and identify a lead follow up staff person. In some cases, the outreach will be a collaboration of various members of the Student of Concern committee and other Institute stakeholders.
