Dec. 5 is Open Door Day, where the administration, faculty and other offices are all opening their doors to students who want to talk.

Today is the first day after the end of classes and traditionally is known as Reading Day. This semester, it has also been designated as “Open Door Day,” where the administration, faculty and other offices are all opening their doors to students who want to talk. "The intent is for each of us to demonstrate openness and a willingness to be available to one another" said John Stein, vice president for student life and dean of students. "It’s a small gesture, but one that I hope will foster a greater sense of community and belonging, which is very much needed at this time."Counselors will also be available to meet with students in a number of locations around campus.  In addition, there are multiple ways that students can talk or take a few minutes to relax, with pet therapy, a movie, or informal conversations. Here is a full list of activities and support programs:Drop In Support Services with Counseling Center & Health InitiativesCome chat with a counselor or a wellness coach about anything – they are there to support your mental health and well-being during this stressful time.December 5th, 9am – 12pmScheller College of Business, Room 497Open to all GT Community members.Reading Day Special at Tech RecStudents can use Tech Rec for bowling & games all day for free.December 5th, 10am – 10pmStudent Center, Tech Rec 1st FloorOpen to all GT students.VOICE Advocate Drop In HoursCome talk with a VOICE advocate about anything you need.
